Wedding ring sets
Wedding ring sets are a popular choice among couples
Wedding ring sets have increasingly gained popularity over the
centuries. It used to be that only the bride received a wedding ring
that was a symbol of the unending commitment between the couple and
their respective families. It later happened that rings were brought
into the Christian wedding ceremonies. The concept of exchanging
rings was only about 15% in 1940 and fairly new. As World War II
started the rate of couples exchanging rings when they were married
rose to a whopping 60 and after the Korean War to 70%.
There are wedding ring sets that consist of two rings only, which
seems to be the most popular choice. Sometimes its just bands for
the bride and groom or it can be just an engagement ring and band
for the bride. The rings usually are of the same design or pattern.
There are other sets that consist of three rings and in this
scenario there are variations as well. Three rings could be an
engagement ring for the bride and bands for both bride and groom.
All are usually of the same design and pattern. The other variation
is a three-ring set given to the bride. An engagement ring is worn
on the third finger of the left hand and the two bands are worn on
either side of the engagement ring after the ceremony.
The wedding ring sets are chosen and sized. A man’s band is usually
two millimeters wider than the woman’s band. The design/ pattern can
be simple, ornate or something in between. The rings should be of
significance to both. When my husband and I went to look for rings,
I thought he was getting just the bands and I was fine with- he
surprised me a beautiful solitaire diamond engagement ring. Gold was
significant for both of us. There are other choices as well such as
the type of metal the ring will be made of. Make your rings as
special as your commitment to each other. For more
